The last Pinot Noir I bought was actually Menage a trois. Pretty tasty but I what I really wanted to buy was Robert Mondavi’s Caneros Pinot Noir. Amazing!!! It was $45 bucks though so a little beyond my reach that day.

Thanks BT.
I’ll have to try that Mondavi.

I’m drinking Rodney Strong’s 2011 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir right now. It was also paired with mushrooms. CRAZY!

How’d it turn out?

Both are good. I was trying to replicate the Elk’s Lodge mushrooms from the mardi gras but didn’t quite pull it off. Still the best mushrooms I’ve ever cooked, though.

That’s the exact soup I made, Evan.

If a Pinot doesn’t have that earthy / mushroom kind of funk to it I just can’t get into it. Haven’t had a lot of Pinot lately.

Exactly.
