Initially I was going to go with a different label/producer, but decided to go out on a limb a little bit, so I was glad to see you liked it.
As far as weather goes, there are a few things that make CO unique for grape growing. First and foremost is the altitude, you won’t find higher vineyards in the US to my knowledge. This causes the amount of UV rays the grapes receive to be higher than anywhere else which aids in acid and sugar levels. It’s also a very arid state. This gives us a ton of sun (avg 300 days a year) and little rain. The two combine to also cause a substantial diurnal shift each day during the growing months (highs in the 80-90s, lows in the 50s).
I already have some other wines in mind to send you, so I guess I need to propose some other horrible bets on my end 🙂
