First, let me say congratulations to you and Kara on your 2 year anniversary. Do you guys have a wedding year wine in the cellar to taste at the 5/10 year marks?
Being fairly new to wine as well, I think the oldest wine I have had was about 10 years old. I do have a half case of birthday wines for my boys that will be fun to open over the next 20+ years though.

We got married in 2010, so last year we got a magnum of Ridge 2010 Monte Bello on futures. We’ll be hanging on to that for a while.

Happy Anniversary to you and Kara! My wife and I opened a bottle of 2001 RS Symmetry we received as wedding gift in 2008 for NYE 2010/11. Very nice bottle of wine! Cheers!

Thanks Martin.
We tasted the 2001 at the winery the day we bought the 05.
Good stuff.

Definitely a good one. Erin and I got this along with the 06 and 07 for some stupidly great price like $130 for the trio in December. We only waited a month to drink it, though.

What a tasty month.

I have never waited to open a bottle of wine. If it is there, drink it. Am I wrong? Is there a wine I should buy now to open, let’s say on my son’s 40th birthday?

Maybe a nice Barolo…
I think that would be pretty tasty come 2018.
