Nice episode, Jeff. I am curious if you would score the VinTJ’s at an 88 if the wine cost $15, or if the $5 price point is factored into your score? PS. I am still hugely jealous that you can get a wine for $5! LOL

That’s a great question with a tricky answer, Jeff.
Even when a wine is tasted blind, the whole idea of quantifying your experience is subjective. Try as I may, there are always going to be outside variables that leak into my scoring.
This is a good wine… A really good wine.
On a bad day, in a bad mood, and having to pay say $10 for it, I could have given it an 85 or 86… So I really can’t deny that price is taken into account when scoring.
My hope is that when I give a score, you’re also taking my gut reaction as far as the flavors and experience with the juice, along with my scores, as my recommendation for you.
So I guess, to answer your question…
The price is kinda factored in.
Thanks for the props and the comment.

Great answer, Jeff. Thanks for the honest reply. I find the same thing when I score wines in my head. I find myself saying for this price, this wine is such and such. I know I shouldn’t let it sneak in there, but it always seems to in some way. Keep up the good work!
