In this episode, Jeff does another blind tasting.
Don’t scroll down until after you watch the episode…
Okay…
So… the Cupcake Vineyards 2010 Red Velvet is a blend of Zinfandel, Merlot (Noooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petite Sirah.
On my next episode, I will be tasting the BV 2009 Coastal Estates Cabernet Sauvignon. You can pick it up for 6 to 9 bucks at most places. Grab a bottle, and taste along with me next time.
Stay Rad,
Jeff

You know what I need to do, Jonny… I need to feel comfortable calling it a blend when I have no clue. Thanks for watching.

Love your description of this wine (my recent fav!) Here is an article I did on the health benefits of Red Wine 🙂 http://divadietitian.com/red-velvet-wine-heart-healthy/

Thanks for reading, Kristie.
Thanks for the article, as well.

Those blends are tough. I held a blind tasting where everyone asked the wine shop to grab and bag a bottle under $15. All but 1 was a blend so it threw us off all night. Ask Kara to get single varietal only next time. And maybe next time, just say there is some Merlot in it regardless, LOL.
Great job though, I do enjoy the vids….only you never reached for the chips.

I like your thinking, Jeff.
Thanks for the comments.
New episode coming up in about an hour…
I’d love for you to check it out.
I’m stoked on it!

Ha, it’s so hard to get the breakdown of a red wine blend, even when it’s just only 1 grape. Whites are a lot easier to figure out…
Anyway, since DailyGrape left the scene I have been looking for a replacement. Found a lot of videoblogs actually, but you are very fun to watch. So keep ‘m commin’!
Cheers, JDR
